You can read the full post here, including a breakdown of expectations at Vegas. We're coming down to it - here's probabilities for advancement out of the Round of 8. Likely that Blaney, Larson, and Hamlin advance; their elimination is most likely to happen if they have a bad race, or if multiple drivers below the cut-line win in the round. submitted by /u/bwilliams18 [link] [comments]
After seeing this past weekends crash where Ross drives through Hamlin, and thinking of some other notable desperate moves like Harvick trying to spin Busch at Martinsville - we have had several desperate moves to try and move on. Which ones stand out to you over the last 20-ish years (counting the chase if there is something from that era)? submitted by /u/Moore_Motorsports [link] [comments]
In his first year. And that he‘d wipe the floor basically with Jeff Gordon who despite driving a Hendricks / Evernham rocket, never dominated like SVG has. Basically that if anyone disagrees, they can shut up, they’re wrong. I am NOT a Denny Hamlin fan. However he's 100% correct. submitted by /u/B_Starr_fan [link] [comments]
So, here we go again one last time with these posts. I know playoff fatigue has been high this year but one thing I was actually surprised by was that had there been no playoffs (and I know guys would race differently than they would now) the 8 drivers left would actually make up the top 9 in season long points with the only exception being Reddick who would be 8th. Anyway, heading into this round I almost feel like you could make a case for any of these drivers why they can or can't make it into the final round because of their individual successes at the tracks we have layed out for this round. With that said the four drivers that I think have the best chance to go to the final round this year are Blaney, Larson, Byron and Elliott. Which means I have Hamlin, Bell, Briscoe and Logano being eliminated in this round. I know this might not be the final 4 but again looking at the stats to the recent races at these tracks and their playoff performances so far it's hard to pick a final 4. I'm sure others have a different final 4 so who would that final 4 be for you guys now? submitted by /u/Altracing34 [link] [comments]
After the Roval, the only difference between the two formats for the Round of 8 is the point differentials. Briscoe/Bell and Hamlin/Byron are by far the big winners and losers between each of the formats. Shows just how strong/weak these teams are running these playoffs. The cutoff points situations were fairly similar as well with Reddick instead chasing-and-missing by single digits to Logano. Overall, whether it be one or the other, the results of each format where almost identical going into the Round of 8. Only time, fuel mileage, and aggressive blocks/bumps will tell what the Championship 4 will be now between the two. submitted by /u/WhyBotherTry [link] [comments]
