So, here we go again one last time with these posts. I know playoff fatigue has been high this year but one thing I was actually surprised by was that had there been no playoffs (and I know guys would race differently than they would now) the 8 drivers left would actually make up the top 9 in season long points with the only exception being Reddick who would be 8th. Anyway, heading into this round I almost feel like you could make a case for any of these drivers why they can or can't make it into the final round because of their individual successes at the tracks we have layed out for this round. With that said the four drivers that I think have the best chance to go to the final round this year are Blaney, Larson, Byron and Elliott. Which means I have Hamlin, Bell, Briscoe and Logano being eliminated in this round. I know this might not be the final 4 but again looking at the stats to the recent races at these tracks and their playoff performances so far it's hard to pick a final 4. I'm sure others have a different final 4 so who would that final 4 be for you guys now? submitted by /u/Altracing34 [link] [comments]
NASCAR driver Tyler Reddick raced Sunday with his championship hopes on the line at the same time his infant son has been diagnosed with a tumor in his chest.
In addition to the well-publicized elimination of Ross Chastain, three other contenders were eliminated from NASCAR Cup Series championship contention on Sunday at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval. And realistically, it’s the three that absolutely needed nothing short of a win in Tyler Reddick, Bubba Wallace and Austin Cindric. There was a brief amount of time where it looked like ...Keep reading
After the Roval, the only difference between the two formats for the Round of 8 is the point differentials. Briscoe/Bell and Hamlin/Byron are by far the big winners and losers between each of the formats. Shows just how strong/weak these teams are running these playoffs. The cutoff points situations were fairly similar as well with Reddick instead chasing-and-missing by single digits to Logano. Overall, whether it be one or the other, the results of each format where almost identical going into the Round of 8. Only time, fuel mileage, and aggressive blocks/bumps will tell what the Championship 4 will be now between the two. submitted by /u/WhyBotherTry [link] [comments]
Sheet One: Season Long Sheet Two: Playoffs So Far Sheet Three: Last Round of Playoffs Notes: Reddick becomes the first driver in the top eight for the season long driver rating to be eliminated from the playoffs. Ryan Blaney is closing in on +500 in Pass Differential, which is absolutely insane. Only Byron, Logano, Blaney and Briscoe have completed all the laps in the playoffs so far as playoff drivers. Had Chris Buescher made the playoffs, I believe he would have advanced to the round of eight. For the rest of the playoffs on Thursday evenings I will post the historical Loop Data from the Stage Point Era and the Next Gen era. submitted by /u/whoiswillo [link] [comments]
