Mod Squad

I’ve been doing some research lately into 1970s NASCAR, and I keep seeing references to the “Mod Squad.” They were running modified races on big ovals, including Daytona and Charlotte, which sounds insane. A lot of Cup guys ran them, including DW (I never knew he drove modifieds) and Harry Gant. Some weekends they were the main support race, and I’m not talking about Martinsville or North Wilkesboro.
